George Soros hops onto the Clean Energy bandwagon

Billionaire investor George Soros, founder of the hedge fund Soros Fund Management LLC, plans to invest $1 billion in clean energy technology, along with a donation of $100 million to an environmental advisory group to help out the policymakers that are trying to turn the world around. Soros is in it both as a business venture and as an effort to solve environmental issues. Soros supports a greenhouse-gas tax as well as the construction of wind farms.

There is another reason why I believe this is significant. This is proof that intelligent, powerful people are beginning to understand where our priorities should lie, and they are making an open effort to help out. As an example, here's a quote from the article I sourced this post from (excuse the length).

Soros’s philanthropic efforts to date have primarily focused on promoting free and open societies, and have included initiatives supporting education, free press and public health.
In August, Soros donated $35 million to help needy children in New York state buy back-to-school supplies, and in May he made a $50 million challenge grant to the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps fight poverty in New York City.
